# SEMP exchange (2026)
Exchange semester at the University of Agder, Norway: security, cloud, architecture and AI
I'm lucky enough to be spending an exchange semester at the University of Agder, in Grimstad, Norway, through SEMP (Switzerland's equivalent of the Erasmus programme). The semester is entirely focused on computer science, through four courses:
- Penetration Testing: how a penetration test unfolds, from reconnaissance to scanning and password attacks, with hands-on labs and reports to write.
- Cloud Infrastructure: building a Kubernetes cluster on OpenStack from scratch, as infrastructure as code with OpenTofu and Talos, then adding networking, storage, continuous deployment and monitoring.
- Software Architecture: designing a system's architecture from its quality attributes (performance, security, maintainability…) and the patterns that address them.
- Artificial Intelligence Architecture: training models on real data, integrating them into applications and designing functional, high-performing agents.
The semester takes place in an international environment, entirely in English, with demanding standards.
